[速報] ウィルコム、Windows搭載PHSを発表（CNET Japan）
ウィルコムは10月20日、OSにWindows Mobile 5.0を搭載したPHSを発表した。端末名は「W-ZERO3」。製造はシャープが担当した。W-SIMを差し込んで利用する。
無線LANに対応し、PCとの同期機能をもつ。Java対応でフルブラウザを搭載しており、POPやSMTPを利用可能だ。このほか、タッチパネル式の3.7インチ（VGA）液晶ディスプレイやフルキーボードを搭載する超ハイエンド端末といえる。
ウィルコム、VGA液晶のWindows Mobile端末を投入──W-SIM対応の「W-ZERO3」（IT Media）
ウィルコムが、W-SIM（10月19日の記事参照）に対応したMicrosoft Windows Mobile 5.0 日本語版搭載のスマートフォン「W-ZERO3」（WSOO3SH）を市場に投入する。端末はシャープが開発。12月上旬頃の発売を予定しており「5万円を切る価格で出したい」（ウィルコム）としている。初回の出荷として10万台を見込む。
VGA対応の3.7インチモバイルASV液晶とスライド式のフルキーボードを搭載し、「携帯の機動性」と「PCとの親和性」をうたう。
W-SIMによるPHS通信に加え、IEEE802.11b準拠の無線LAN機能も備える。ウィルコムのEメールやライトメールに加え、POPやSMTP対応のメールも利用可能。添付データ付きメールの送受信も行える。QWERTY配列のスライド式キーボードが搭載されるため長文の入力も快適に行えるという。PC用サイトも閲覧可能なインターネットブラウザも搭載し、Flash対応サイトの閲覧も可能だ。
また本体の底面には133万画素CMOSカメラを装備。3.7インチの大画面をファインダーにして写真や動画を撮影できる。静止画の最大撮影サイズは1280×1024ピクセル。動画はWMV方式で保存され、Windows Media Player 10で再生できる。
PCで作成したExcelやWordファイルなどの閲覧やデータ編集に対応。CPUはインテルのPXA270／416MHzを採用した。
音声定額の「ウィルコム定額プラン」や、インターネットの定額サービス「データ定額」に対応するほか、同端末の発売と同時にウィルコムが提供開始する「ウィルコム無線LANオプション」（10月20日の記事参照）も利用できる。
Windows Mobile向けアプリケーションや企業システム連携用途のソリューションは、PC用の開発ツール「Visual Studioで開発可能。アプリケーションプラットフォームとして.NET Compact Frameworkが利用でき、Windows向けソリューションの開発経験を持つ開発者が容易にソリューション開発できるのもメリットとしている。

ザウルスにPHSカードをさしてブログの更新をしていたりします。今夜に書いている記事以外はザウルスからといってもいいですね。これが電話としても使えるならもっといいなぁと思っています。 こんばんは。
ちょうど、W-ZERO3のサイトを見ていました。
電話としても使えるそうです。
それを知って、ますます端末をどれにしようか悩む結果に。
ですが、個人的に料金プランが「？」なのである程度
端末と料金プランの情報が集まる年明けくらいまで
様子見をした方がいいのかなと思ってもいます。
(でもかなり、W-ZERO3に心が吸い寄せられましたが)

無線LANも使えますね。M1000と一緒で普通に電話として使うには厳しいと思いますよ。そのために（ほぼ）通話専用の機種が出ているくらいですから。 無線LANも使えます。便利な世の中になったものです。
通話はほとんど使わないと思われる機能なのですが
無いとなぜか不安なので、あるだけで満足という感じです。
